Northbrook Garden Club Continuing Projects

Perennial Plant Sale:
"From our Garden to Yours"  The sale is our annual fund-raiser; the proceeds support local scholarship, contributions and scholarships to Garden Clubs of Illinois, Club programs and expenses. Members dig perennials from their gardens, pot them and sell them at the Garden Club’s 2-day plant sale. This event usually occurs on the Friday and Saturday following Mother's Day in May (see announcements for exact date).

Scholarship Award:
A $1,500 scholarship is awarded to a deserving Glenbrook North college-bound student to study horticulture, environmental studies or related field.

Earth Day Participation:  The Garden Club participates in the Village of Northbrook's Earth and Arbor Day Celebration in April by handing out information, answering questions, giving seed packets, selling Praying Mantis egg cases, and raffling a planted basket.

Garden Club Outreach and Education

The Club is partnering with Northbrook Farmers Market, Go Green Northbrook, and Northbrook Park District on a monarch butterfly project, "Let's Make Northbrook a Monarch Way Station." This citizens' initiative is an educational program to help folks understand the plight of the monarch and what we can do to help.
